AUDI A4 Cabrio 1.8T 2003 - How does thermostat operate #

Year of Manufacture *: 2003
( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: 1.8T

This vehicle has an engine light an no comm's. That is an issue which will come after thermostat fix.

It has had a genuine VW thermoat fitted (they call it an electronic one).

The top hose on radiator is hot, bottom hose coldish. May be thermostat not opening?

It has a permanent 12v feed to the sensor attached. Is the thermostat opened via a ground from ECU.

I have never worked on this type before.

So you are baffled by technology over 10 years old !!

Lots of training course's would cover this, as would some self study on the inter-net, tech club, tech topics etc

By the way self study is a big clue

I have been on lots of training courses. I PDF them after completion, but I am not able to hold all the knowledge these days.

But, suppose I will look up some old course notes. Thanks for the help.

What is wrong with the vehicle?

It's not a sensor, it's a heater, get comms with the ECU and see if you can control it.

I've just seen your post. A bit late maybe.

Try searching Google for "Self-Study Programme 222"

and you will learn about mapped thermostats.
