Ford Transit 2011 2.2 - Euro 5 engines #

Help Does any ford techs know which euro5 engines in transits and transit customs go faulty with the variable pressyre oil pump failure problem or what exactly happens. I want to but a custom but I'm put off

Hi Paul, spoke to our Ford tech today, and he thinks the only ones with the variable pressure oil pump are the "rocam" Turbo engines i.e. the Ecoboost range.
The Transit, and Transit Customs still use the 2.2TDCi Puma unit as far as he is aware.

Thanks tony. Ford are recalling some trany customs etc. will keep asking

Just goes to show, as we're not a Transit dealer, we don't get to see many. I've looked through the Field Service Actions and yes, the 2011-2013 Transit 2.2 with high miles are subject to a Service action re:excessive oil pump wear.
This looks as though it is not a recall, so the vehicles affected will only be repaired in the event of them returning to dealer for service/repairs.
Unfortunately, it doesn't specify what the "certain high mileage/ drive cycles" are though!

SUMMARY
A number of Transit vehicles meeting certain high mileage / drive cycle conditions may experience accelerated wear within the oil pump. A revised oil pump should be installed as detailed in the associated service instructions.

The plot thickens. Thanks tony. Just found out why the two fiat ducatos with this engine went bang. Oil pump!!!!! Company got them sorted foc under warranty We have seen 3 transits fail at 100k mark
