BBA Reman #

Have any of you seen the Carnage at the BBA Reman Forum.

It seems that they have been less than honest, supplying "Genuine Tools"

Far be it for me to judge - BBS has an open forum if you wish to take a look

Prince is a long standing member of BBA forum, the s**t has hit the fan big time over on that forum,which is open to the whole world to see. Also a sleeper here but that is his choice.

The carnage that Prince refers to relates to BBA selling a cloned PP to a member of that forum who paid £1200 quid for kit that was bought off ebay for £120 quid, they then added an unlicensed laptop and sold it on at £1200 quid, but added you cant update PP software and by the way your laptop is using unlicenced software.

Pop across to have a look, lots of threads are now blocked,what a surprise !!

Been lurking on the BBA forum after someone i was speaking to earlier in the week told me about it!

It is not only the cloned tool issue, but the petty comments available for the general public to see!

I suspected piracy at BBA a few years ago when I sent off an A4 dash panel to BBA for repair after first enquiring whether they could fix it.

They advised that the part number I supplied could be repaired by them, so in good faith I sent off the DPI.

They contacted me approximately one week later to advise they couldn't repair this part number DPI & I was relieved of £60 for the benefit of them "testing" it.

I'd already tested it, so if they couldn't repair it I would have preffered a call to let me know, rather than them testing a component they knew they couldn't fix.

I advised a refund would be acceptable to me & they refused.

I receive a number of diagnostic jobs locally from other garages & am amazed by how many have used the dodgy ecu repair businesses proliferating in the UK. They often deliver the vehicle to me with the knowledge that they sent an ecu off for testing and it passed all tests. At this point they hit a brick wall diagnostically, being competent and carrying out all tests which indicated the ECU was at fault.
Incredible how many of these "none faulty" "tested okay" ECU's are scrap.

Cloned tools bought cheap & sold expensive, is just another way for the immoral sector of the trade to generate a fast buck from unsuspecting workshops who use them in good faith.

I agree and have said this again and again.

Every time you call them you get the flannel about this much to test it etc. I have always said "I dont need it tested" I have tested it and will attach fault codes and scope traces to show my findings - I need it Repaired and great if YOU test YOUR repair before sending it back.

I have not used an ECU testing repair service in years for that reason.

If it is a given, as it seems it is with any competent tecnician that the best test bench is the car itself then Lab ECU testing has to be wrong.
Or the other way round - I see no middle ground here.

Coming back to the belief that the best test bed for the ecu is the car itself, If you subscribe to that theory,then that makes a mockery of that industry because they do not put it on the car to test their repair. ?

As most Big Money Making enterprises these days, they are lucrative because they are wrong.

No better than most Engine Rebuilders - They dont Remanufacture or rebuild, they fix what they can see is broken using second hand or cheapest new parts and move on to the next one.
