Vauxhall Vectra C 1.8 2008 - No comms with anything on vehicle - Fixed #

( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: 1800cc

Have a Vauxhall vectra C recovered to us, No comms with anything on vehicle!

when ignition is turned on, the ECU primes the fuel pump so can only assume ECU is being powered up,

Have checked at pins 6 and 14 at diag socket with pico, and seem to have clean canHI and canLO signals, However at the canHI and canLO of the ABS tell me there is a short circuit somewhere, for the life of me i cant work out where this is.

8 ohms across the can network, i know this is not right but where are the terminating resistors on this system?

Story behind this one, customer experienced misfire, called out breakdown company and they said ignition coil faulty, fitted cheap coil and car hasnt ran since!

I'm sure their located in CIM and the ECM

These do suffer with weird and wonderful things happening from connection on abs plug.

Disconnect plug check for moisture. Maybe a quick dab of wd40 and retry.

Have checked the ABS connections and they seem ok...

i'd have thought that i'd have comms with CIM if the ABS connection wasnt any good, i've bridged out the ABS can wiring to "bypass" it and still the same,

Whats weird though, according to my wiring diags, Pin 6 / 14 are directly wired to cim as the "gateway", but even when the CIM is disconnected we still have a healthy can hi/lo patterns on the scope..

This had to have numerous control modules in the end...

Replaced CIM first off, Which helped me regain comms with the vehicle to a degree, Replaced ECU, ABS, BCM, PAS, DDM, and a new key!

Had a story when the customer had car back, apparently he was playing with a bit of "wire", a "test light" (halogen bulb) around the ecu area,

i suspect something has been probed into the networking wires!

Either way, Car running, second hand parts supplied by customer from south west vaux spares, (who were very helpful) and customer now knows to call an expert when he gets a fault, instead of "tinkering!"
