Volvo S40 2.0D 2006 - Power steering pump change - Fixed #

Hi

We have the above vehicle in with the electric power steering pump not working.

A new one from Volvo has to be programmed into the car.

Is this dealer only?

sometime ago I fitted second hand on 2005 s40 . No programming involved at all

Might try that option.

Volvo new one is approx. £300 but needs programmed.

Don't know is any aftermarket tool can program it in.

BBA quoted approx. £400 for a repair.

I will give the customer the option of getting a second hand unit.

Hi dont know if its the same, but programmed in a new steering last week for a ford s max using bosch kts.Volvo and fords can be much the same parts...

Apologies for not updating this.

After discussion with customer and not knowing whether we could program in a new pump, we got one from BBA who assured us it was plug and play.

Although this was £50 more than a new pump it meant no faffing around, replaced pump and off it went.
