Hi all
Just wondering if anyone has come across this fault. 2002 Mini cooper 1.6 petrol,when returning after parked up can return to total electrical failure,ie no lights/nothing on key etc. Also if locked no remote unlocking possible. Can then leave and return later sometimes can be all o.k. Customer also reckons if boot or doors is slammed, she hears a click and everything returns. As usual, fault will not occur for us....Do fusebox in engine bay fail, as when disconnected this gives same symptoms, ie no electrics whatsoever....
any advice appreciated...

These do suffer from footwell module failure, sometimes due to water ingress. It is located in the drivers side footwell. There is an earlier and later type module, I cant remember which is which but it might be a good place to start.
