Technical Topics in Bridgwater recent flooding in Somerset #

Year of Manufacture *: 2014

I was looking on tech topics website this morning for location and noticed it very close to a river, do hope for James sake this doesn't prove to be catastrophic. Also feel for any other businesses affected elsewhere, would be curios on any comment.

i have done that as well and he does look close to flooded area as I am booked for march 22 course I am now wondering if it will go ahead

No need to panic chaps. James is close to the river, but it is all ok in the town centre & for James it is business as usual

If that's the EEPROM course I can say it was very informative, well done James.

Hi Colm,

I take it you arrived back ok. Really enjoyed the course personally - it was the right intro in to that sort of stuff for me but I guess you've done a fair bit more EEPROM programming so you might be coming at it from a different angle?

Hi Barney,

I'm home safe and sound thanks, I had to head for the boat so I couldn't hang around after. I did enjoy the course myself, as you said it was an introduction so a lot of the material was familiar to me, but there was a few things I hadn't come across before. I had heard of chipquik but never seen it used before it seems to be a good way of desoldering the bigger chips.

PS I have been having a look on amazon, think I will copy your pico scope set up ideas!

Colm,

Had a batch of chipquik arrive today so am ready to practice some more. Also google Dell optiplex 9020 AIO or Asus ET2220 as I think these could be a good pico solution. Both are VESA stand compatible. However they weigh in at about 9-10 kgs so I guess the support has to be good.

Will post a pic if I get something sorted!
