BMW 525D 2004 - MASK fault #

Year of Manufacture *: 2004

Hi, I have this car in with no audio and no screen.
M-ASK-BO ecu not responding and one fault code S0001 no comms with head unit.

Am I right in thinking the head unit controls the screen?
Could do with a quick overview of this and best way to test.

Hi

You are correct in thinking that the 'head' unit or CCC is the controller for this system. CCC-BO is the user interface which is a board that is on the mother board in the CCC.

Have you scanned all control units on the audio and communication system?

What is the history, has there been a re flash?

What scan tool are you using?

A note to add, check in the boot for water ingress around control units and the display unit can fault with extreme temperatures.

You need to locate a reliable wiring diagram and check lives grounds ect.

The CCC can be reset by pushing the rotary push button and the eject buttons for the CDROM drive and the DVD drive.

Can you post last 7 digits on VIN.

Vin is WBANC52090B586545

Customer reports that it just stopped working, it's nice and dry in boot.

Using BMW ISTA and only fault is no comms with the head unit, all other modules are recognized and present.
