Ford Fiesta 1.1 CFi 1995 - Intermitant fault #
Posted by Keith Penman on February 3, 2014, 7:17 pm Hi after a bit of inspiration here, to cut a long story short i have a fiesta that broke down, it stopped the symptom being akin to running out of fuel, the tank had been filled 50mls previously. When i got to it it started ran poorly for 100m and died. Checked ok for spark but did not appear to be injecting any fuel, pulled of the fuel feed and there was fuel pressure on turning on the ignition and cranking.Towed it home and put a pressure gauge inline (just under 1 bar running and 4+ when blocking line) and it started and has ran for 100mls without missing a beat i have thrashed it senseless and it refuses to die! The problem is the owner(a friend) lives 200mls away and i don`t want to let it go till i have found a fault. I fitted a new fuel filter and cut the old one up hopping to find some evidence of contamination that may have caused a temporary blockage but all was fine. The car had stood for a few months and only done a few hundred miles in the year before that, only 60k on it and full service history mainly by myself.
