Ford Ka DuraTec 2007 - Heater inside car hot all the time (with A/C) - Fixed #

Hi all

problem with heater inside car hot all the time customer has had control valve fitted by another garage the one below scuttle panel. Done usual checks 12v feed to valve from fuse box,the valve should be earthed from control panel inside car. I have connected a noid light but no lighting of bulb takes place in any position on hot and cold panel.do these only work with vehicle moving ?

Anyone repaired one of these i have been quoted 285+vat from ford

Any info would be useful.

When the valve goes it can take the control panel with it.

If it will not light a 501 bulb ( after load testing the supply line) its looking like a control panel fault (check power/earth lines on that as well)

I would go with s/hand if poss,or try and get the original repaired.It is usually the driver/switching transistor that fails on these.Take the cover off the panel and take a look.No way would I be giving Ford £3oo for one of these.

Got it here, sorry it's not got air con on it but part no is VP97KP 19A522AB, thats on a sticker behind the buttons

fitted second hand unit cured fault.
control panel now swithching valve as required.
