Ford Key Programming #

For those with IDS (Key Programming).

Some 2011 and all 2012 on models, IDS will only program Keys if you have a paid subscription with Etis and UK Not USA Licensed Software, It's no longer the In and out Code system as we know it.

When adding a key with IDS to gain security access you are taken to an internet log in page. After typing in the correct details the server scans your IDS for the License code if all okay, you are then granted access to proceed.

This system is present on some of the 2011 models although we have done some using the new Algorithm which hasn't lasted long.

The transponders cannot be cloned either.

The Cost of Etis Subs are 2800 euro and the software license is 1600 euro.

Focus(2011+), C-Max(2012+), S-Max(2012+) are the affected models, but some still use the old incode system due to early build dates, Mondeo(2010+), Kuga(2012+) and Fiesta (2013+) are the ones I have found to be using the new algo incode system, and can be done using old IDS regardless of license type. You will also need to apply for Ford security accreditation (although not sure if this allows access to Gsevin/Oasis or just the abilty to contact ford with authorisation code.

So waht effect will this have in terms of AD100 etc, can they still manage to overcome the new system.

What happens to IDS users if they need to do other type fo security related work like replacing an instrument cluster (if that is immobiliser related).

Same effect it has now, they can't, nobody can so far, and seeing as it's over 3 years past by and still nobody has cracked it I don't have much hope for the foreseeable future, companies like AD simply move on to other things they can conquer :-)

Steve is correct, the only way to do the later Ford models is with a Authenticated online account.

Even though you will have the PATS function on IDS once you click on it , a Java applet will load that requires you to login onto a secure Server. You now login ,if access is gratened you just select the function you require. You never see any in or out codes anymore....

Isn't it great to know that block exemption regulation REALLY worked out for us independents then! The VM's were never going to make it easy for us, but being that no one really seems to be policing BER, they are making it harder & harder for us at ever opportunity! Even harder times ahead for us guys maybe??? Gunner

Morning Paul the way I see it. Every thing is available for us Independents but at a cost. It's that what makes it very difficult. The one good thing about it is that it should stop the shady merchants that clone keys for £35 that don't even ask for proof of ownership.

Hi Keith.
Agreed that the info is out there for us, but as you say, it's the blasted cost of the subs! We already pay enough to purchase genuine interfaces & VCI's without paying a huge cost in subs & code access! Ford is one of the worst for this, as you say, the new Etis ids subs are going to be £1400 & then we need to pay for each access code required. IDS is the one tool that is used daily in our workshop, so I will have to pay for the new UK Etis software, but with dealers in my area charging £50 for coding & software updates, it's going to be pretty hard to make a decent profit in the future.
