bit of an odd one this one of my regular customers came to me after being frightened half to death by main dealer quote of £7000 yes 7 grand the problem is he tops up p/s fluid and within a day or two the car tells him there is a problem on the power steering/active suspension control no signs anywhere on the front end of any leaks ??? but the fluid is empty so we filled it and road tested it all was fine we kept the car and ran around for a few days I was testing the car (hard job I know)and threw it into a corner a little faster than I should have and there was a whooshing noise from the o/s rear wheel area the lights came on p/s & asc when I looked in the mirror there was about 2 pints of p/s fluid on the floor where id cornered further investigation revealed a leaking hydraulic hose to the rear anti roll bar researching this showed this is on the dynamic drive I consulted a local independent bmw specialist whose reply was odd "im not goin to start taking aspirin for your headaches" so as we also repair plant I took the hose to a local pirtek an they made a hose for £20.00this was fitted topped up and tested all good for £100.00 happy customer moral is never overlook the obvious hoping this may help someone
