Do you charge for scanner? #

Hi all,
Just need a few opinions on wheather you guys charge for using your diagnostic scanners when your doing brakes etc.
I used main yesterday to put a renault scenic in and out of maintence mode, to replace rear pads.
Is this chargeable or not ?
I don't charge but I'm thinking I should.

Its all part of that job, so, no we dont charge additionally for using the tools for the job.

As stated its part of the job requirement but i do charge more on the labour side and put something like "replace rear brake pads using required diagnostic equipment,rebuild and roadtest. if i normaly charge £45 labour i make it £60.

I know where you are coming from, but you dont charge additionally for, "using 2 post ramp,hand tools and air for air tools etc", they are all tools required for the job, which without you wouldnt have taken the job on.
These are all things included with your hourly charge. Diagnostics are chargeable, but in this case its a tool for the job.
