Hi all, Some help or info required please, I will try to make this as clear as possible, it wont be easy. Car arrived with slave cylinder(assentric cylinder ?)leaking . I replaced the clutch kith with a AC delco kit and a LUK cylinder,2 days later the leak returned. I removed box again and replaced the cylinder, thought it was a faulty part,2 days later the leak returned. I then thought the master cylinder was at fault so I replaced the master cylinder, removed the gearbox again and replaced the slave cylinder again with another Luk cylinder. 2 days later, guess what ? leak returned. I then stripped it again and fitted a 3 piece Sachs kit ,valeo disc in the box, but the leak returned again. I have heard from a Renault specialist that a full LUK kit is the only kit to fit to this car. I have tried 4 suppliers for this kit but I am told the LUK has put a stop on supplying these kits due to a "technical issue". Have any of you come across this before or heard of anything. My Renault dealer has never come across the problem and thinks a genunine kit will be valeo. Any info out there and thanks for reading. Cheers, Dave
Is the slave possibly being over pressurized? For example did you clamp the flexi hose causing it to collapse internally and giving a one way valve effect every so often? I've seen this before and it only played up briefly every so often, no other noticeable effects apart from the slave failing prematurely. Is there a damper in the line which could be causing issues?
Hi Matt, Thanks for your reply, I have not been back to this one yet , a lot of other headaches to deal with. The pipe is hard plastic with no damper or rubber section to collapse, i did examine it and there is no problem. I was talking to a tech guy in LUK in the UK on Friday and he has confirmed that the kit is currently unavailable and couldn't give me a reason. I have a genuine kit ordered so I will fit it and see how it goes. Keep you posted, Cheers, Dave.Cheers, Dave.
