Coil spring compressor - Which one? #

Year of Manufacture *: any

Seem to be struggling at the moment with coil spring replacement,have various different tools from threaded to floor mounted hydraulic unit.Thinking a pneumatic floor mounted unit might be the way forward,Alba unit looks good.Just wondering if anybody uses it or any alternatives,any advise welcome.

weve had an alba for 2 years with no problems not the quickest to use I would assune but nothing to compare it to.

When I was at the Mechanex show in May this year I saw the "Jack Tech SK-3000" being demonstrated. To me it was the best I have seen. I am going to get one but haven't ordered it yet.

The leaflet price was £595 but show price was £495 with free delivery and two years warranty.
It was certainly the quickest to adjust and use and appeared to me to be the safest especially with the big Citroen and Peugeot springs.

I have bought a "Jack Teck SK-3000" It works a treat! I have always had floor standing hydraulic ones before, was a bit sceptical if it would be easy to use. But it is!

We had the sykes pikavant unit for a while and it's crap so steer clear of that.
We now have the Alba and so far it's not let us down, we do quite a lot of springs and it works perfect and with ease.

i bought the hercules 2000 which is the same as the Alba unit.Really pleased with it so far and it probably one of the best on the market.

Currently use Klann Spring Compressors, find them to be excellent, although a bit expensive. Have tried various floor mounted units, but often not up to the job, especially with heavier van and 4x4 springs.
