Hyundai Tucson 2.0 CRDi 2004 - Cambelt replacement? #

Year of Manufacture *: 54

Autodata suggests that this is an "Engine Out" Job.

It does look a little tight in there.

Has anybody done one of these in situ?

Hi Paul,

These are an engine out job, there is a large alloy casting in front of the timing cover that is the problem, it cannot be removed with the engine in

Check with your Hyundai dealer as they were doing a good price on these on menu pricing

Thanks for that.

Ill let the customer know. The hours don't look too bad but I do not have the facilities for engine removal.

Is there a possibility you could undo engine/gearbox mounts and slide the lot towards the passenger side? To save total engine removal?

I did one of these a couple of months ago, yes you can't get the ally housing out but I managed to move it enough to do the job, bit tricky but do-able where it is.

From memory you do as Tony suggests and undo the gearbox mounts. This allows enough room to do the cam belt. Has been a while since I did the last one but did not remove engine. Seem remember other posts about this on here.
