Nissan Primastar 1.9 CDi F9Q 2006 - No throttle on start up #

Hi all I have a Nissan Primastar which when started there is no throttle. I have checked the throttle system with diagnostics and there is no fault codes showing in system. Sometimes if you start it and let it tick over for about 10 to 20 seconds you can watch the revs drop slightly and then it will rev up. I have found that if you start it and squeeze the fuel primer bulb it will then rev up straight away, any help on this would be very helpful.

I have a Vauxhall Vivaro 1.9 in this evening with the same complaint.
I believe the fault lies within the injectors and that they are leaking off the fuel pressure. This one only seems to play up after standing for a few hours or more.
If you watch live data you will find the fuel pressure climb after 10 seconds or so and then the vehicle will rev. I also understand a software update is available but have not carried that out myself to know how much it improves things.

Thanks for that info, I was working on this one myself this evening. If I turn the engine of and restart it,it would not rev. I did this several times with the same response. I did notice on my scanner that the fuel amount desired at idle, was zero on start up and started to move only when I squeezed the bulb. If I started it and left it to tick over it would not move off zero.

I would check injector leak off & rail pressure relief valve leak by next. followed by low pressure pump operation.

Thanks to all who have replied to my question, I will have the vehicle back in to carry out further investigation when he can spare it, now that I have showed him what to do next time he is stuck with not starting it.

Have you looked at air mass ??
That is generally the problem
