Hi
This Golf has a fault with the brake lights.
After releasing your foot from the brake peddle the brake lights will remain on, the shift lock is off and you can put it into gear.
The garage has already replaced the brake light 'switch' This is a hall effect on mounted on the master cylinder.
There is no codes logged [VCDS] and live readings in the Engine and the ABS show the activation and release of the brake peddel even though the brake lights remain on.
I have looked through Elsa but cant work out where to go next.
Has anyone seen this issue with these new brake sensors?
May not be relevant but I had an A3 with the brake lights permanently on. Found blown fuse in underbonnet fuse box that had a continuous high load on it i.e blew again immediately ;-). I traced this to a faulty clutch switch, this too was a hall sensor device and smelt burnt when I had managed to get it off. When the switch was replaced and a new fuse was fitted the brake lights worked correctly. I thought it was quite a bizarre interaction at the time.
