Ford C Max 2007 - Power steering pump location? - Fixed #

Hi

Can any one tell me were the p/steering pump is on these its electric/hydraulic its stopped working customer said it made a horrible noise and then packed up.i had to top up a late polo last week and found it buried under the battery which i had to remove to top up what a daft idea

thanks malcolm found pump under headlamp what another stupid idea it does not even mention it in the handbook any way pump is faulty new one on order only £322 from ford bargain

Just as side note, these suffered with manufacturing problems with the steering racks.
Most notably, it takes a little bit of force to begin the "power assistance" when standing. Apparently, the swarf from manufacture wasn't cleaned out properly.
I'd recommend at least a flush out of the system after replacement of the pump.

Hi

Customer went for s/hand unit which he supplied i flushed system out as suggested part no on unit was same as old unit did not need coding
