Citroen C4 1.6 HDi 2006 - DPF fault #

( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: 1.6 HDI

Hi,
Just asking wheather anyone else always gets fault code for fuel cap sensor. I have changed the sensor on another car I was having trouble with (with same engine)trouble code still comes back.
Is it a common problem on Citroen and Peugeot and what do you do to get rid of code?

Did you replace it because of a code or did you test the circuit?

Hi andy,
It was a while ago now but if a remember I had no comms with additive ecu and replaced ecu, then I was only getting fuel cap sensor, tested wiring and fitted new sensor. Code was back straight after clearing, I left code be and car hasn't been back with dpf problems yet, it was 6 months ago.

If you look in the BSI the data you require for the switch is in there.

As far as getting `rid` of the fault code it is a very simple circuit to diagnose and repair.

You will need to repair the fault as it does effect the DPF system.

It is very common for the switches to fail, also if you have filled up addative you will need to remove the fuel cap and put it back on before it will fully clear the addative level code.

Are you sure the data is in the BSI Carl?
I remember it as being in the addative ecu data.
Either way if its not seeing the cap go on and off it will not inject correctly and will cause a problem further down the line Shane.
