BMW E91 318 2.0L D 2008 - Will not crank #

Hi
I have this at a body shop, the battery link has been replaced and the data cleared in the restraint system but the car does not crank.
What else has to be configured or coded to enable the car to crank or do I have a seperate fault?

You're a little vauge on the background here.

I'm assuming the vehicle has been in a accident. You've replaced the battery safety terminal and cleared the SRS codes but are there any other codes in the vehicle? If it's a manual is the clutch switch working? What happens when you push the start button?

Odd thing was where the clutch switch usually sits was just a hole.
But lower down was a small slave cylinder with a small 4 wire mag reed module on top which would not sit correctly in its housing. Hold it in place and all is well, so Have left it with body shop to decide how they want to progress. My guess would be to see a small increase in sales figures for loctite.!
