I attended this van in the week for loss of gauges and most of the dash board functions.
Couldnt get comms with the dash so i pulled it out to check for supply and earths with all checking ok.

I did find a lot of black dust/muck on the pcb which i cleaned off and everything started working normally. The customer was happy as a new dash is over £500.( i know it probably wont last)

The customer called me today to ask what else i had done to the van as it has never started so well since i did the dash?

The van starts without the dash connected so it cant be a pats issue, im a little lost as to a possible cause.

Any ideas guys?

but it diddnt not run with the fault or run any better after
