Skoda Fabia 1.2 12v 2006 - No power windows - Fixed #

( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: 1.2 12v

Hi,
Had this one in today with no power windows, drivers and passenger. I have checked all fuses and I have power and earth going into door module.
I,m getting no comms with vag com to the door mod.
Any advise please? , I thing it could be the door mod but would that stop the passenger Side working?

Hi Shane, I had a similar car in a few weeks ago with a similar problem, we had recently fit a new regulator a few weeks before, thinking it was probably the door module (been strained) for the same side, I disconnected it and the drivers side started working, but saying that, the customer did say after a while they would start working anyway, so might not be the module, could've been coincidence.

Anyway, diagnostics is in the convenience unit and not door modules, so check there for any fault codes, mine had none.

I advised my customer it was probably a faulty door module or two, or convenience unit and could be expensive. I have a wiring diagram for this but just couldn't get my head round it and didn't have the time to spend trying to suss it out, I managed to talk the customer out of us taking it any further for the time being.

Let me know if you want wiring diagram and i'll email it

Hi Shane, does it work from any of teh buttons? Convenience normally allows you to operate from drivers side all other windows, if not working from own switch either on each side thats a bit wierd. Ill need to look at wiring for that model.

I've got a fabia in with the exact same problem, if you disconnect the drivers door module and reconnect with the ignition on, both the front windows will work untill the ignition is switched off for a while. No fault codes stored.

Thanks James and Chris .
I have a strange one because it doesn't seem to have can going to the door mod. So that will explain way no comms with door mod or convenience . There doesn't seem to be a way to test switch so I tried a new one with no joy.
Adam I have ordered new door mod for Monday so I will try what you have said and let you no out come.

Have you checked the wires going to the door in the hinge? Its worth pulling off the rubber gaitor and pulling on the wires even if you cant see a break as sometimes the copper wire can break even though the insulation looks good.

Fitted new door mod and all's well.
mine didn't work when connected with ignition on.
