Honda Civic 2.2 CDTi 2006 - Alarm goes off all the time - Fixed #

Hi all

Merry Christmas

Car been to dealers due to alarm going off all the time. The dealer said it was car battery, replaced it at an extorinate price, no difference so now they say it is the sounder and want £600 to fit new or £150 to disconnect sounder/siren. Where is the sounder/siren unit on these cars? Some say in scuttle on passenger side under bonnet, others say in boot area and a mechanic friend said under wheel arch liner O/S/R.

Open the door when the alarm is on, and listen for it

The alarm siren is in the o/s/r wing ,behind the boot trims.You may need to remove the spare wheel well fittings also.These sirens are usually wrecked by jump starting a flat battery,however they can recover after the engine is run for about 30 mins,to recharge the internal battery.

Sounder is in boot area RH side. Lots to remove to get to but easy enough. Lights don't flash when locked due to sounder being disconnected but all OK.
