Toyota Aygo - Steering ECU repair - Fixed #

Hi,

First one I have seen but by all accounts this is a common faiulure. C1552 and C1554 logged for relay fault. Relay is internal to ECU. Power into ECU is ok.

My question, has anyone opened and repaired one?

Rebuilt units are available but if possible I prefer to do them myself.

Relays sourced and unit repaired. Decent profit from jobs ike these.

Hi Alan,
Did you source the relays easily? Did you open the ECU & replace the relay yourself?

Yes John, I opened it and fitted the relays myself. Sourcing them was a litte more difficult but not too bad.

Hi Alan the auto electrician we use has started to repair these types of steering units en mass he keeps his cards very close to his chest and isn't free with info about what he does to repair them but like you've said makes a decent profit from the job.
