Hi, can anyone give me some idea were to check this out. I have a renault clio which had a fault with the indicators coming on by them self. I sent the body control module away to be checked by BBA reman. They found a fault and repaired. Sent it back and after fitting it back on, the indicators would all flash when you opened the door also if you operated the rear screen heater switch then the door would all lock. I sent the unit back but they could find no fault.

Did you disconnect the hazard switch,
Is there a aftermarket alarm fitted,

Hi Mick I did not disconnect the switch, only fitted the body control module back in and connect up the plugs. I did use the scanner after to see if there are any codes but none in system.

I'm having exactly the same fault with a dci Clio at the moment. The hazards come on when ever they fancy, although the hazard switch doesn't flash to indicate it has been activated. For information the hazard switch completes a circuit when activated - hence if disconnecting it sorts the problem then its the switch. The alarms are also very problematic but generally only fitted to the dci and 172 I believe. Although fitted by renault I think they employed pre-school kids for this task.

As for BBA I would not trust them too much. No fault found doesn't mean there isn't a fault, just that they couldn't find it.

From what you've described either removing the UCH has manipulated the fault (water around the area, bad connections?) or the UCH is faulty.

Does th live data show anything interesting?

Hi Mike
I had a similar problem with a Scenic which turned out to be the air ba module. Try unplugging the module and see if the fault disappears.

Hi all.Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Last week I took the car to Renault, to check out the problem due to BBA reman telling me that there was no fault with the body control module, after them having it back for a second time. It was found that it was faulty and replaced with new unit to which they reprogramed. Car is now working fine. Many thanks for the advise. FIXXED

Will BBA be paying you for your wasted time?
