Vauxhall Vectra 2.0 Di 1997 - Code 35 bbelt tensioner left high resistance #

Hi everyone

I have this vectra in with air bag light on using my opus cmt i got this fault code 35 belt tensioner left high resistance.can someone give me some ideas how to test it? thanks

Hi George,
Ignition off disconnect the off side recheck fault codes to make sure the tool is reffering to the correct side, ignition off reconnect read the resistance value of the offside one in live data, ign off disconnect the near side one sustitute the pretensioner with a resistor off the correct value (as read in offside) ignition on see if fault code clears if so replace the pretensioner err do not leave the resistor in place!

hi rob the opus does't give me resistance values for this car is 3 ohms about right?
also is ignition off enaugh? or sould battery be disconnected?

3 Ohms should suffice, ignition off and pause for awhile has never given me any problems text book battery disconnected...

We used to do loads of these.The official mod was to cut out the plastic connector under the seat and join the wires directly.

Always batteery disconnect!!!
capacitors in airbag ecu still charged!!
could go off anytime

better safe than sorry,with black eyes & a large bill for airbag replacement
