Fiat Punto ECU - Source for a replacement #

Customer has a Punto with the usual coil driver issue. Its in another garage, I have just been asked to advise on a source for a replacement. She plans to buy an ECU from http://www.ecutesting.com/ Anyone know them or suggest someone else to buy from?

Hi Alan,

Obtained mine from BBA Re-man in the past which also supplied the coil packs to go with it. No coding necessary but just needed cam/crank syncro. No idea how it compares to main dealer on prices but I thought it was very reasonably priced.

Hi Alan
I've had success with ECUtesting in the past, in fact they recently repaired a C-class ECU for a customer of mine when the two repairers that I favour most (Actronics and ATP Electronics) could not offer a repair.
I believe Actronics and ATP can also repair these.
The advantage of repair of course is no coding is required, depends whether you have a machine that can do it.

Hello Alan, I sent one off for testing a while back(bluestreak I believe). It couldn't be repaired so they supplied me a new one in an intermotor box.

Evening Alan,

Price from BBA Re-man was £366 which included the two coils, VAT and P + P. New ECU was free running.

I've just checked intermotor's web site as I thought I paid about £100 & it would appear that bluestreak is part of the same group & I probably received a reman unit. http://www.intermotor.co.uk/
