BMW 630 2005 - Electric water pump fault, code 2E81 - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2005

Engine running hot. No heat inside vehicle and fan runs constantly.

Fault code 2E81 Electrical Coolant Pump Signal Deviation.

Voltages at Pump terminal 1, 12v
Terminal 2, 12v
Terminal 3, 7v
Terminal 4, earth with ignition on.

No info for this vehicle. Can anyone tell me if these voltages are correct and can the Electric Pump be tested or run with Plug disconnected and separate supply and earth?

If I recall,these figures look good.I don,t think these can be bench tested as they are ecu/logic controlled.Check out my post in fixed and gone for similar E90 2/3/2011.hth

Thanks for replies - very helpful.

Sorry for late response back from me.

Got vehicle back in today - fitted new pump and thermostat. Vehicle now up and running albeit with a bulb problem.
