Vauxhall Corsa 2004 - NSF sidelight bulb replacement #

At the risk of seeming to ask a daft question. How??

The owners handbook helpfully suggests removal of the fusebox cover but even after there is no way I can get my hand in there and crook by fingers round to grasp the sidelight bulb holder!! (its in too firm to just pull out by pulling on the wires, even supposing that this is a good way of doing it!)

Is it atually possible to do this job without removing the headlight cluster (Bumper etc) or fusebox??

Paul, Great to do, aren't they !!!

I have succesfully changed these with long angled nosed pliers.
Still awkward, but beats the Vauxhall oficial way of removing the front bumper.

I dispair at the design of some lamps when having to replace some bulbs. I still remember car advertisments on TV from years ago, stating how no tools needed to change bulbs.
OOOOPPPPS, showing me age there.

did 2 of these this week. you can grab the wire to the bulb holder with pliers and pull the holder out,fitting it back is easy

As long as the holder has not decided to melt itself to the
lamp. Otherwise you end up with a pair of terminals in your hand.

No prizes for guessing how i know that.

VW Polo's around the 2004 year are bad enough especially when the bulb holder release tags are broken off.

Next question. Who sells legal LED ones so that one only has to do the job once?

According to the Hella mainbeam brochure that came in the post the other day no LED's are legal for road use in a unit other than one that has been designed to take them due to the way the lens filters the light and it may dazzle as dirt hits the lens as the light is not focused.
