Ford Mondeo 1.8 DCi 2008 - Steering very tight to turn #

Hi

Steering very tight to turn.When you start up it loosens slightly. Just wondering if anybody has had to fit steering rack to this model as everthing else seems fine.

Hi Liam
I own a 2008 Mondeo that had very tight steering first thing in the morning. i spoke to my Ford dealer and found that there was an inherant problem with the steering racks. Replaced the rack and now perfect.

Friend of mine has one and his steering gets tight at times, generally at low speeds, I suspected the rack at fault, but he said he would persevere with it, he recently had to replace the tyres and he reckoned it is better now since new tyres fitted. I reckon it won't be long before he starts to notice it again
