Hi, I have just refitted the cylinder head back onto this vehicle, after it had broken cam belt. New belt kit, tensioners and water pump. All new valves etc. On start up it started one turn of the key, and it was idling during bleed out of cooling system. The engine management light was on from the start but left that until fan and water flow was sorted. When I plug ed in diagnostics there was a load of codes in system, this I put down to having to turn on ignition and open window to push car in, with all sensors disconnected. I cleared all codes and also reset throttle body. Now if I start up engine it will not rev up and engine hunts after a short while. I have codes showing P1553, Manifold pressure P1504 Air intake leak detected. I have smoked the inlet manifold and found slight weep around MAP sensor, resealed that. I have replaced with new MAP sensor, cleaned throttle body and reset it again. Any other ideas would be very much appreciated as they are going on holiday in a weeks time.
Since asking for help, this afternoon I retraced my steps on this fault. At first I plugged it into Verus and could only get the throttle body to reset. After rechecking the manifold etc, I then plugged it into my KTS system. This then gave me more options and reset procedures. After going through them all and testing, it sorted out the problem. I think it was the basic idle setting that was out?. Car is now running correctly. FIXED
