Ford Focus 2009 - All brakes binding #

Year of Manufacture *: 2009

Hi

All brakes binding, have checked callipers and pistons these have free movement start binding as soon as brakes applied front pads worn 70%

Brake master cylinder piston return spring appears to have lost its strength to me Martin. If the caliper pistons are able to be forced back then the master is the problem.

If all the brakes are being brought on when the car is driven, it is usually a servo fault. The internal seal wears and allows air pressure in to the vacuum chamber, this then operates the brakes as if you were pushing the brake pedal.

Drive the car to recreate the fault, then slacken the bolts holding the brake master on to the servo, if the brakes free off it is a servo fault.
