Volvo V50 2.0d 2004 - Non start, intermittent #

( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: 2.0D se

hi
every now and again this vehicle will not engage its starter motor, you can hear the steering lock motor operate but on key position 3 nothing, but on re-attempting it will start but not always.
has anyone fitted a new ignition lock and does it need coding by the dealer
what sort of job is it ?

i have replaced a couple of these ignition
switches for the fault you have.
the top of the dash board has to come off.not to bad a job.
the switches are just plug and play

I can appreciate you slightly sarcastic comment, I have noticed a distinct lack of good manners on UKAT of late.

Dave Harney has gone to considerable efforts to provide you with some excellent repair information. He isn't employed to do so, but does it selflessly for the benefit of worthy recipients.

Yes, well done Dave, an excellent response and I sincerely hope you and others, are not put off from posting similar in the future. I am sure its appreciated by the vast majority.
Who knows? there may well be a reason why there has been no response ------------ yet.
