Year of Manufacture *: 2000 ( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: AJM
Would appreciate some info if possible.
This vehicle came to us with ABS problem. No comms with ecu, and after all the usual checks was sent off to a well known remanufacturer.
They claim that they repaired the ecu, but when it came back the problem was still there. After waiting two months they have now supplied us with another unit which we have fitted. The ABS w/l now goes out but he traction control w/l remains on. There is also no comms with traction control or anti slip as its called on the verus. There is a code stored in the ABS memory which says that the ecu needs coding to the vehicle.
My question is does this have to be done by VW as there was no comms with the old unit,or can I find the required code somewhere else and do the job myself with the verus? Also is it possible that the fact it needs coding is causing the traction control w/l to stay on?
Cheers Dave.

you can code it with vcds/vag com etc. I dont have verus but I think there should be a option to code the unit . You just need the right coding.

Have a look at this video from the ross tech wiki You may be able to do it in expert mode on verus

Thanks very much for your replies, the Rosstech link was especially useful. Once I had worked out the code It was very simple to enter it with the verus in expert mode. I was quite surprised that I had to enter the code twice, once in abs and once in anti slip, does that mean that the abs unit has two ecu's in one enclosure? thanks again Dave.
