VW Golf IV AGU 1999 - ABS light on after 15mph #

hi guys
i have a problem with my own golf abs system. when i reach 15mph or more my abs light comes on and when i drop below 15 it goes off again. have checked fault codes and have none. all fuses are ok and the pump has all supplys present. if i watch live data all 4 wheels are turning at the same speed but i still have this fault.

never had this before so a bit confused.
also when the light is on both my solus pro and vagcom wont connect but will with the light off'

anyone had this or knows anything i caould try

i have done a global scan and the only fault is an intermittant fault with the nsf door lock

the only other thing is i activated auto lock last week and then the problem started so i have disabled auto lock and it still does it

This might just be coincidence, many systems will shut down communication with scan tool when a predetermined speed is reached, I would say that is normal and not connected to your fault.

Is 15 mph the speed at which autolocking kicks in?, I wonder if somehow the coding has been changed?

As Aidan says most scanners drop out at that same speed, confusing .

dont know if the scanner shouldnt connect at 15 or above so will have to try a differant car.

did change the coding for the central convenience unit, for the locking but have changed it back to what it was originally

I'm fairly sure the Snap-on scanner displays a message when communicationg with ABS systems that above a certain speed comms will be lost.

I thought it was 20mph on VAG/snap-on scanner.

it does say that communication may be lost above 20kmh but i can read live data all the way to 70mph and all 4 wheel speed sensors read the same and have no drop outs or hiccups.

still confused about the light coming on and off with speed, does anyone know if the gearbox sensor plays a part in the abs?
