Mercedes Benz SLK230 1999 Compressor - Engine Cuts out whilst driving - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: T 1999

Vehicle cuts out whilst driving.

When key is turned to restart vehicle, starter motor fails to operate. If vehicle is left around 5-15 mins, it will restart and drive without any problem.

I have tried to recreate problem both in workshop and on the road but unsuccessfully.

Codes stored are:

P1525 adjustable camshaft solonoid control (Y49).
P1235 recirculation flap signal output.
P1236 aircon compressor clutch output stage.

Any ideas appreciated.

Hi Ian

I had a simalar problem with them fault codes.

Under the fuse box cover on the n/s under the bonnet they have a control unit, Multi-relay box including fuel pump i think. [The first one in from the engine side]. Open it up and check for dry solder joints.

I will get the part number when i get to work because they are not very expensive.

Spot on Ian. Dry joint on back of circuit board. Customer requested repair rather than replace relay.

Everything seems in order.
