LDV 2.5 2005 - Non start #

( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: 2.5 VM

Can anyone shed light on starting probs,
Engine replaced,old unit burning oil and comp down, but otherwise starting and running ok,
stripped out and fitted new/recon block and head,and second hand injectors,new glow plugs, would not start on key, towed and started and ran ok. Now will not start on key, a small wif of ether and starts ok and runs well, but refuses to start on key. Main fuel rail on cranking between 180/350 bar, glows lihgting up, injectors not being triggered,(starter has been renewed. Fault code for crank sensor comes up on cranking, sensor replaced, wires continuaty to ECU ok

Any suggestions,HELP.

Read with what ? wrong sensor discription poss. cam sensor or cam timing slightly out ?

I have dealt with a few of these as Les suggests if battery not cranking fast enough will flag code for crank sensor.
Was the cambelt fitted with cam and crank locking tools.(chrysler voyager kit)
Have the glows been checked visually will show glow light even if not working fuse causes a regular problem.
Fuel filter head can drain back.

Hi kev
Sorry for delay, code is P0335 crankshaft position sensor A circuit and we are reading it with a snap on solus pro.

Hi Keith
I had one of these with the same fault code. Another garage had fitted a crank sensor but hadnt properly cleaned the face where the sensor sits which was making the air gap too big. It was same as yours would start with a tow, its worth a look. HTH

Can you post a scope trace of the crank sensor signal at cranking.
