Citroen Nemo 1.3D 2010 - Oil light flashing after oil change #

Hi

I have a Citroen Nemo here with a flashing oil light indicating that it needs to be changed. I changed the oil and filter with 5w30 fully and the oil light carried on flashing. I telephoned my local Citroen dealership who explained that the 5w30 was the correct oil, but suggested that I try something thicker. He recommended a 10w40 Semi, I changed the oil again and the flashing light still continues... anyone else seen this?

I did an oil counter reset for another garage recently and you will need a scan tool that has that capability. The service has to registered in the dash and the oil change in the ECU.
I don't remember the oil light flashing but there was a "change oil" message within the instrument display.

Dont know if these suffer like the peugeot bipper vans with faulty oil level sensors. on the bippers the light flashes for low oil level which is usualy the level sensor. just an idea. sounds like a straight forward diagnostic service light reset if not to me.

Are these like the Suzuki diesels that will not carry out a Regen if the oil is too old? and the flashing light is to warn you.

Sounds like either a simple level fault or the vehicle needs a reset, as others have said.

If this does have a DPF, I don't think it should have 10/40 semi in it !!!

Had the same thing just before Christmas on a van for one of my suppliers. Oil light flashing with a fault code refering to 'oil degredation'.
They had recently changed oil but failed to reset oil counters. Couldn't do it at first using Solus through Citroen software but went in again through Fiat and managed to reset both instrument cluster and engine ECU.

HAD SIMILIER FAULT ON CITROEN CAUSED BY WRONG OIL FILTER
