Any IDS users out there? #

Year of Manufacture *: 2007

Hi everyone, I have a Transit connect 2007 and it was having persistant EGR faults.
Anyway, I just go a new IDS system and when I went into PCM it said there was a software update.
So, virgin as I am in reflashin I carried out the download - imagine my horror when it said "deleting ecu software..."
After a bit of a game I got it all sorted and reconfigured the immobiliser and all was good.
But it now doesnt have traction control
Does anyone know where in the IDS system I have to go to let it know it has TC or did I do something wrong when uploading the new software ?

I have got the van tomorrow morning for a few hours, so I can sort it but a heads up before I start would be a help :@

(Well some-one has to ask !! Genuine IDS or clone ?) Doesnt make any difference ive used both and they both have exactly same functions.

I think its a genuine IDS board inside a cloned case ?? I bought it from Techno Diagnosis .
Anyway, any ideas on how to get TC back ??

Hi Glen,

I would suggest vehicle configuration.

Did you try to abort anything half way through the update?

Glen.

Have you read the thread on IDS in diagnostic section ?

I suspect you will have to re-program it "as built" then do the update.

Was you useing a battery support unit ?

Now i may in- correct but that point,s to a new purchase ! and if it is a new purchase and it,s a clone it will not be up-dateable as he will need a genuine IDS number which is registered to only one lap top at a time, well thats the way it looks.
I would think that is worth pointing out.

I have advised to return to "as built" which i find quick and easy.

How is that done ? I own a genuine IDS but do not play with it every day.

I haven't looked at IDS in the diag section because for some reason I cant log into that forum - it says my password is wrong.

Yes I had a power saver fitted and didnt abort anything although at some point in the procedings it asked if there was a TC light on the dash ( and there wasn't) so I said NO

That said, all this may be in vain as the customer still hasn't brought it back to me so I have not had the chance to see where I went wrong.

Well the dash does have a TC light on it !! or it would not be illuminated now, i don,t think it actually asked the question that way.

I'm pretty sure it did ask if there was a TC light on the IC, and there wasn't. But now I have an orange light that looks like a gear ring
and the wheels do spin up.
You mentioned returning it to its original setting, is that done in Module programming ?

I think that light is a fuel system fault light. It may need something relearning.
Any fault codes.

That light is nothing to do with TC. I think you will need to reset fuel pressure relif valve counters in fuel service menu Your flash may have remaped pressure regulators to account for air in fuel when changing fuel filters HTH Kevin Williams

More info; Probably P0089 code flagged in PCM. Select Toolbox on IDS then Powertrain then Service functions PCM then Reset fuel pressure relif value open count learned value then Reset the Fuel pressure relif valve open duration learned value HTH Kevin Williams
