Mercedes Benz CLK200 W209 2004 - Convertible roof not opening #

Struggling with this as was Merc main dealers had car 3 days and couldn't fix it.
As per heading roof not opening or doing anything... using Star no fault codes, no events, all limit switches seem to be correct, Lower Control Panel is seing roof switch being operated, manually starting first stage of opening (allen key) dash display confirms, hyd pump oil level ok I can drive motor in both directions through activations, all voltages etc seem fine (in live data)
I'm wondering if roof control module is seeing message from LCP for roof switch but surely this would flag CAN fault so still checking testing but I'm stuck any help appreciated
Checking limit switches includes the rear head rests as they have to be down for the roof to operate I manually lifted them status 'not ready' dash button to drop them and status 'ready'
I am a little further the boot lid catch is seen by the roof module as open or closed it switches boot light off when manually closing catch, the roof module also sees the catch being rotated but the roof module is stating the boot lid is open with catch closed(status does not change) checked block 1 pin 29 to catch pin 1 is fine so I think roof module is at fault Merc Doncaster have never sold one but 10 sold nationally in 12 months at 239 + vat I will put this to cust, I will let you know...
