BMW X5 E53 3.0d 2005 - Panoramic roof stuck open #

Year of Manufacture *: 2005
( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: 3.0D

We have an X5 with the rear part of the panoranic roof stuck open.
The customer has informed us that there is a repair kit available.
Has anyone carried out this repair and how long to fit the kit.

Looked at one of these a couple of years ago and at the time there was no repair kit available.Bmw wanted around £2k to replace the roof cassette unit.However as the car was recently out of warranty and it is a well known fault,dealer done the job for around £1k.Absolute bargain!Situation may be different now.

We done one a few months back
we used the repair kit and it only lasted a few
days.

Fitted the full unit and it was ok.
spoke to a bmw tech and he informed us that the
repair kits where useless

Hi Brian,

We had one of these few months back and managed to close the rear section of the roof and then disabled it this leaves the front section to open and close as normal and a happy customer
