Jaguar V8 3.2 1998 - non start, code P1336 #

Year of Manufacture *: 1998

Hi guys

I have my own car here non start and the code i am reading is P1336 the crank or camshaft sensor malfuntion any advise on witch one first or should i just replace both, not to gend up on jags

My Gendan Jaguar software defines this code as "engine position sensor range or performance".I've always found this sort of code definition rather vague.Basically I think it means something is wrong with the timing.So my guess is you could have a problem with the chain drive to camshafts,which is not unknown on this engine.

I have P1336 as Crank/cam sensors synchronisation malfunction. It goes on to say it could also be crank or cam sensor circuit fault.(Jaguar TIS disc)
Probably best to scope both if possible.
