Citroen C8 2.0 HDi RHS 2005 - Timing belt broken - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2005 '05
( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: RHS

Just after a little advice, this car has come in with a non start.

Car has only done 56k and within 5 minutes of poking
i found the cambelt was snapped.

Not a problem for me to fix, but autohasnodata
says engine out required to remove the head - is this right?

I wont be looking at replacing the cam followers like on the 306 8v Hdi will I?

Is valve to piston damage a certainty?
Obviously I can compression test, but if anyone has any pointers, with time being at a premium I can get on and tackle the beast!

they are saying engine out because it is bastard to get the injectors out. We got the tool to remove them without engine out. Where are you based mate? We do offer this service for diferent garages.

I'm in Leicester - not that close to you!!

Can the injectors not stay in the head whilst I remove the head though?

Hi Liam

No you need to remove the injectors fist to allow removal of the Manifold / Cam cover to gain access to the cylinder head bolts.

most engines we remove the injectors from have only broken the rocker fingers and not damaged the valves.

you can watch the process on our website or on youtube (https://youtu.be/3AiGFsEPMOE) under the name "ib1911" or just search for seized injector removal on google.

it normally takes upto 18 tonnes of force on average to get these out so if you try a slide hammer you won't get far unless they are loose (which some are but most arn't)

if you can do the belt with the engine in we can normally remove the injectors with the engine in also it just needs engine mounting off etc.

Just another thought, will the injectors need coding once removed and rebuilt?

I have a costomer ni Manchester and he has got 807. He need two injectors to be taken outr. Do you want to take over the job? A little bit too far for me?

Good it,s sorted.We done one last week 53 plate c8.Started nice , run nice. Took it on the road automatic gearbox problem. Oil pressure fault.
Maybe someone know where I could get another gearbox for it?Reasonable price. Checked with some suppliers they want 1k.Thanks
