Nice simple mechanical question.

1560cc Pug hdi engine in a Focus C Max TDCi.

This is leaking coolant from the plastic pipe at the back of the water pump. The pipe is the double one that runs across the back of the engine and around the head under the fuel filter.

Common problem? Do they crack or is it an O ring?

It looks like a bastard of a job. What do I have to strip to get the pipe out? Can it be done from underneath?
