Jaguar X Type 2002 - Gearbox fault codes, P1111, P0733, P0734, P0735 & P0778 - Fixed #

Evening All,
I was asked to fault code read this car for an old customer which was showing "Gear Box Fault" on the dash-board and the EML was illuminated.
Fault codes as follows:
P1111 - System check pass P0733 - Gear 3 incorrect ratio PO734 - Gear 4 incorrect ratio PO735 - Gear 5 incorrect ratio PO778 - Pressure Control Solenoid
The vehicle will not go above 25 Mph and also will not reverse more than a few feet. On reversing, it appears as though the brakes are being applied. I have checked the auto-transmission fluid and although it appears topped up, it smells decidedly burnt. On that basis, I have recommended that the fluid be changed and see where we go from there.
I admit that this is not my area of expertise and will try and help my customers as much as possible. I would be grateful therefore if more learned techs out there can point me in the right direction. I can find nothing in the archives relating to this problem.

Hi Kev,
Yes you were correct (as usual). Customer has finally got back to me and is having the gearbox rebuilt. Seems he needs a new ECU as well. Only done 36000 miles
