A routine scan revealed that the convenience CAN is running in emergency mode (cannot remember code at the moment, will post tomorrow).
Checking the convenience module shows no water damage but the vehicle has evidence of previous water ingress and repair.
First check for CAN termination resistance showed open circuit. Checks to CAN connections from convenience module into all four doors shows good continuity on CAN-H and CAN-L. I have not yet checked continuity to Radio, Hevac, Instruments etc. I have not yet checked waveforms either.
Can anyone tell me where The termination resistors would be on the network? I would have expected them to be located in the convenience module itself and the instrument cluster. So either I am wrong or something has blown them up.
As usual when you think you know where a job is going it throws you a curve ball.
