Renault Laguna B56L 1997 - Trans pressure sensor circuit fault #

Year of Manufacture *: 1997
( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: Eng F3R / Trans AD4

Trans drops into limp. code logged for pressure sensor circuit fault (Clip). Code cleared and returned once with a wiggle test of the loom across the front of the car. Only happened once so I am not sure if the fault was there or not.

I am looking for wiring for this trans or even pin outs for the pressure sensor, both trans and ecu ends.

Mornin' Alan,

Common fault mate, intermittent pressure sensor codes eventually leading to permanent failure, change the sensor. It's the one retained by 2 torx screws on the bottom of the bellhousing. Yours is one of the last ones and the sensor flylead IIRC is integral with the main trans to TCM loom (expensive) So, if you order one for say an old Renault 25 with the AR4 box, these had a dedicated fly lead and connector which you can cut and splice into the existing loom. Cheers Paul,

I took a look at the loom today and its perfect, so I got the garage to order a sensor. This must be the older one because it has a plug on the loom. Will post the outcome.

Garage fitted a known good used sensor because Renault here wanted €400 for one. Still the same. Either they have fitted a faulty sensor or it wasn’t faulty. I suppose even though Clip blamed the circuit it could be an actual pressure fault. Wiring diag showing the sensor would be useful if anyone has one.

Had a dig around Alan and unfortunately I don't have a wiring diagram but......From memeory, I think there's 4 pins in the connector? only 3 of them are electrical connections, V ref. GND & signal, the other cavity is a tiny breather tube.

If your'e using clip you should be able to compare desired vs actual pressure? If so, you need to see a discrepancy less than about 0.2 bar at idle. HTH.

PS: The 4 pin connector is fitted to later gearboxes, ignore that, bit o brainfade....

You'll still have a 3 pin connector tho' at the TCM, same deal, V ref, GND & signal.
