BMW 740i E36 4.4 2001 - ABS code 92 pre-charging pump pressure senor #

Year of Manufacture *: 2001
( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: 4.4 448s2

I have a ABS problem with this vehicle code with Solus Pro is 92 precharging pump pressure sensor it will clear but as soon as you get to about 30mph it comes back on I thought it was a wheel sensor but data shows they are all working can't find any info on this vehicle any help would be great

I would presume this is an E38 (rather than E36)fitted with Bosch ESP1.24.The pressure sensor is screwed into the hydraulic modulator body and monitors fluid pressure from master cyl.(3 pin connector).This switch is available as a seperate part at around £80 ,if I recall.However I have had issues with the main abs controller at fault giving the same dtc.Can you read any live data brake pressure with the Solus?Btw,same switch is fitted to some Vw Passat and Ford mondeo variants with esp.

Hi Paul, what model is the vehicle ?

E36 is a three series

What ABS system is fitted ?

Has it got traction ?

Is it full ESP ?

Give me the above info and I will try to help.

Hi Paul I had the same fault code recently , the fault was the pre charge pump was not working.
This pump is situated at the o/s near the bonnet hinge area, the pump has two wires going to it and I think 3 pipes.

sorry yes its a e38 i had trouble connecting scanner as it has a 16 pin connector o/s kick panel, and solus was saying abs connector behind centre consul, but there was a round pin connector under the bonnet which i got into abs, on live data it is showing brake pressure and all wheel sensors are working on road test up to about 30mph then the solus cuts off saying error

For safty reason many systems will shut down the Dignostic link after a pre set speed is reaced. I dont think that is due to a fault.
