VW Passat 2.0 TDi PD 2006 - Replacing the engine oil pump #
Posted by Graham Hucklesby on February 25, 2011, 9:51 pm Have taken on a job on this vehicle of replacing the engine oil pump/balance shaft assy which has a vw mod to the drive in that the chain drive is replaced with a spur gear train assy. all seemed straight foward until trying to remove the old crank sprocket which is an interference fit on the crankshaft,we had a two legged puller which fitted ok but the sprocket broke while trying to pull it off!(very tight)any body had experience of these? ast do a specific puller for these which is also used for cam sprockets on some v6 audis, which may be our only hope, but am worried this may not work due to the damaged pulley.
